  9/2/2005: The Tenants, Gold Coast Beer Fest & Spiderbait? Interested?
  With the new album in the can and only a release date to be confirmed, Oh! And a Record Company to release it. The boys are getting itchy feet and are busting to play some shows.
  So on the 11th, 12th, 13th of March , The Tenants are heading north to spread the word of the new album. So if your Briz-Vegas or Surfers, "come on down and let us do it right for YOU!!!!"

• 6/2/2005: Turbo Nun Records Presents "Pop Fest 3" @ NSW Bowlo 26/2/05
  This will be "The Tenants" first Sydney appearance in a while and what an occasion .
  The line up opens with John Citizen, Tshitki, Melanie Horsnell and the Inflatable Girlfriends, Andy Clockwise, Somewhere in Summer and will close with The Tenants.
  A wonderful celebration of POP... It will be a fantastic night.

• 16/1/2005: Ace's Uk Trip & Album Update
  Ace's UK Trip:1st of December 2004 Ace took off to the UK and then on to Europe with his lovely wife Erin.
  Ace claimed the trip was a woking one with, looking to secure a UK release for the new album and find some way to Get the band over there. Erin wohm actually had meetings to go to worked very hard (before the holiday).
  Ace was trying to meet up (have many beers) with the "Happy Life" boys and mull over some SXSW 2002 memories. Sadly the boys were hard at work promoting their new album "Sweet Resort
  All in all the rip was fantastic and The Tenants may be headding that way Late 2005/early 2006.so all those Londoners keep an eye out
  
  Album Update:What can I say, all is done on the new album.We are just trying to ink a release at the moment. It will be out early this year and the first single will be" Disco Ace", I just cant give U a date yet. I assure you talks are in progress and we will have an answer soon...
  Mike Foxtrotsky of Nancy Vandal fame and Mr Jono Gilbert have ben putting together a video for "Disco Ace". The band are not in the video as we are on the" Dont Eat Any Pies" diet before we do our new promo shots.

• 7/9/2004: Wot's Big? Big Things & The Tenants
  Yes folks, wotif.com have sent two trusty customers around Australia on the "Wots Big Tour", to check out all the road side attractions. The Tenants song "Big Things" has been picked as the theme for the tour.
  Some of you may know that The Tenants have a new single "Disco Ace" coming out real soon, and in celebration of the "Wots Big Tour" we have put "Big Things" on our new single "Disco Ace" single as track Number 2.

• 19/5/2004: New Web Site On Its Way!
  Yes The Tenants are working!!!
  It dose not seem like it from the updates on this site, but the boys have been hard at work finishing the album and writing new material and designing a new web site.
  We will have a new web site up in 2 weeks so keep your ears peeled and your eyes on the screen.
  
  We did slip in a gig @ the Kurrajong Heights hotel last week. Helping "Crapulous Gee Gaw" launch their new album. Now that was a hoot, we all had a very big night...
  
  The album is complete except for a few minor details, so we are looking around for a record company who is gona stick it out there for us (if you know anyone send us an email).
  The first single (haven't decide yet) will head-out in early July, and we will be back on the road making lots 'O' nose somewhere near you in July/August.
  
  To all the O/S fans (especially Canada) keep spreading the word to those radio stations etc, as we are trying to secure a deal in the UK and Somewhere in Canada at the moment, we would love to get over for some shows.
  
  See we are not so slack after all! Consider yourself updated, you will be seeing The Tenants with all their fancy new stuff (Ace got a new guitar) very soooooooon!!!

  We are still in and out of the studio at the moment working on the album, it wont be long now.

• 4/12/2003: Final Shows For 2003!!
  Yes folks 2003 is coming to a close. The Tenants are back in the studio finishing tracks for the album, but we have a few shows left in us for 2003. We hope everyone had a great 2003 and are going to keep and eye out for us in 2004!!!

  Plus you get to see Jace The Ace roll out some of his mellow acoustic tunes (from his beige period).

• 25/11/2003: Central Coast X-mass Gig For The Tenants.
  The Tenants have been based on the central coast for the last 6 months, finally they get to do a show in their local area.
  This will be a big show full of local acts and just in time for some Christmas cheer!!

  Yes folks The Tenants are finally hitting Sydney!!!
  The Tenants will be playing; "Grow Your Own Volume 8" Showcase at Bar Broadway on the 23rd of October. It will be a great night with some fantastic bands so come on down......
  
  THE LINE UP: The Tenants, The Hand me downs, Shmutt and Balmains very own Neverland, doors open early 7:30pm and there will be giveaways on the night......

• 28/8/2003:"Ready To Rumble" In Stores September 1st & Tenants On The Footy Show September 4th!!!
  Crazy I know , "Ready To Rumble" has been all printed up and will be in your local store September1st !!

• 7/8/2003: New Single "Ready To Rumble" On The Air Waves...
  Yes folks I can hardly believe it myself, "Ready To Rumble" has gone to radio and will be in the shops in the next few weeks!!!
  This is the first single from our debut album to be available to the public, so get out there and snap em up! (The single will be available from us at the Brisbane EKKA gig if you are really keen)
  The album "Everything You Know Is Wrong" will be out in February 2004 and you will see another single from us before the album.
  We will be on the road in September (check the GIGS page for details) starting in QLD on the 11th so get ready for the Tenants Rock'n'Roll Circus in your town, if we don't get to your town, send us an email stating what arseholes we are for not making the effort and you possibly could see some results!! (Or go to DFILM and make us a short cartoon and send it to <info@thetenants.com.au> it is really tops)

• 16/9/2002: The Tenants in Bathurst
  During a show from The Fridge Magnets (local Bathurst Rock hero’s Dennis Harahan, Mick Robbo, J R Euwing and sometimes Ace) in Bathurst this week at the Oxford Hotel, The Tenants hopped up and did an impromptu set, oh yes the people did go off!!! Also the now, Bathurst local Mikey "FOX "Foxall (Nancy Vandal) jumped up and ripped into an old Nancy Vandal classic "Were Not Getting Any Nuder".

• 1/8/2002: Ace Acoustic (Sydney) Shows
  Yes, Ace has been popping up in various places in the last few weeks and doing the old acoustic set. This Sunday (3/8/02)at the Excelcior Hotel in Glebe, you will catch him cranking out a couple of numbers (oooh err!!) Along with the wonderful Melanie Horsnell. It is worth going just to hear Melanie, so come on down. It all starts around 7:00pm

• 30/7/2002: Ace and J.J do regional Radio!
  Ace and J.J travelled to Orange today to launch the Hay Wire competition. The competition is for young people in regional areas, they write stories on regional life. Ace and J.J are there to share their fond memories of growing up in the Central West, to play a few songs and generally give away the stock pile of Tenants merchandise. One of the interviews will be on the Rosie Beaton show (Triple J) so keep your ears open and radio tuned, you may here ace do some acoustic number.

• 19/7/2002: Tour News
  All fared well with the first few shows, it was a long drive to Adelaide but the shows were great (except for Ants Speeding fine, he wont be driving in Victoria for a few months). The Sydney shows were fantastic and we would especially like to thank all the people who came to the Annandale, it was a fantastic night, all the bands on the bill kicked some serious goals, Shutter Speed being my highlight!!!
  The short run to Briz-Vegas exactly that, we had to show Ant the big prawn and various other incredibly large items that litter the coast road. Oh yes and we stopped at them all!!!!!!

• 27/5/2002: The Tenants Back On The Road! Rock And Or Roll?
  Since last year The Tenants have been holed up in the studio-recording demo after demo in a tireless bid to find a record company that's willing to tear off the rubber band and foot the bill for the forthcoming full-length album. Now the boys have decided the time is right to get back out on the road.
  These tours will see the debut of new Tenants drummer Ant Layton who came on board after Deanie B made a graceful exit from the world of rock and roll late last year. Ant is keen to prove he can swear just as loudly and wash just as infrequently as his esteemed predecessor. There is only one way to find out if he can back up these bold claims – and that is by catching the Tenants as they perform at a well catered entertainment facility (i.e. pub) near you as part of their forthcoming “Rock and or Roll” 2002 tour. The fun kick off at Flinders Uni in Adelaide on Thursday13th of June. Throughout June, July and August the boys will also be wandering around Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Possibly the N.T. All details will be up on the gigs page as soon as they are confirmed.
  
  
  
• 23/5/2002: Album Talk. "Get Started" Will be followed up by a full length album "Everything You Know Is Wrong". The lamington drives we have been running to pay for this album, have not proved to be as profitable as we would have hoped. Progress is slow, so please be patient.
  
  
  
• 22/5/2002: Ace Acoustic!!! Yes that is correct Ladies and Gents. Ace is doing a solo show at The Excelcior Hotel in Glebe. He is doing a support for long time resident band The Melanie Horsnell band . Come on down and check it out!!! If all goes to plan you be able to catch ace solo (The Tenant) around town more often.
  
  
  
• 4/4/2002: The Tenants Back On The Road: Touring will re-commence in June and Ace will be popping up around the place armed only with his acoustic guitar and a bunch of new tunes, June-September. Keep your eyes out as dates will be posted on the gigs page as soon as they are confirmed.
  
  
  
• 15/3/2002: New Drummer for The Tenants. After an exhaustive search of every pub within a 300m radius of their house, J.J and Ace have finally found a replacement for Deanie B. The one and only ANT LAYTON, Skins man extraordinaire... We will be heading in to a rehearsal studio this week to put Ant through a rigorous training schedule of drinking, swearing and outrageous ROCK STAR BEHAVIOUR. If he is up to scratch we will see if he can play drums.
  
  
  
• 2/2/2002: Deanie B Departs The Tenants. Yes Ladies and Rock'n'Roll lovers, Dean ( "The King Of Rock") Bakota, has decided to hang up his sticks. Over the years Deanie B ( Tommy Lee Turnip or Mr. Shit) played a large part in the "Nancy Vandal" phenomena before moving onto The Tenants were he weaved his magic on Both Ep's and put the ROCK into shows for almost three years. He has decided to take on his Graphic/ Web design business "Hot Poo Creations", full time. It is definitely a sad day for Rock-'n'-roll and The Tenants. He will be missed by all.

• Mark Thomas 1966 -2002
  Raise one to the sky for a beautiful guy who left us way too soon.....
  
  
• NEW MUSIC
  The Tenants have had plenty to do recently within the heavily padded walls of PECULIAR SOUNDS STUDIOS where they recorded a bunch of new tunes for a full-length album with producer Dave Reynolds (Mother Hubbard, Lime, The Wrecking Crew) and engineer, the late Mark Thomas (Silver Chair, Magic Dirt, the list is endless).
  The sudden death of Mark Thomas in September saw the band take some time out to re-evaluate the situation. They will be heading back into the studio in January (depending on funds) 2002 with producer Dave Reynolds to finish off the album.
  
  
  
• NEW LOOK SLIM & TRIM TENANTS! Some of you who have seen The Tenants live will remember us as a four piece band. Well now we are three. Due to the birth of his daughter (Georgia) and the onset of the inevitable responsibilities Gregory J Thorsby will no longer be the crazy axe-wielding maniac on the right hand side of stage.
  Beloved fans do not despair, he promises to keep popping up and annoying the shit out of everyone every now and then.
  Ace, JJ and Dean have done some road testing on the new look three piece and are pretty chuffed with the outcome. JJ was quoted in a recent interview as saying “ Yeah the three piece is great, there is so much more room to move. I mean you do the maths, a case of beer and a bottle of Wild Turkey split three ways instead of four! Of course we are going to play better.
  
  
  
• GIGS UP AND COMING End Of 2001:The 9th of December sees the boys off to Bris-Vegas for a free all ages Xmas show (outdoors) at the Carindale Hotel. Details gigs page.
  January will see the boys back in the studio to finish off the much-awaited debut album currently titled “Everything You Know Is wrong".
